The responsibility of the Association of Corporate Counsel is to work on behalf of its members and maintain a member-responsive organizational culture.
Dear ACC Colorado Members,
This is such a wonderful time of year in Colorado – the weather is still fabulous, and the leaves are starting to change. I’m personally grateful for the kids being back in school and am looking forward to the advent of the ski season (I-70 notwithstanding). I hope you all got to enjoy some fun and relaxation over the summer months.
Our Board has been busy planning a full slate of events for the Fall and Winter, and we kicked off our in-person programing with the Erin Meyer event in August. It was an inspiring program presented by an expert in cross-cultural communication, and for those of us working in global teams, the insights gleaned were so incredibly valuable. I had a lot of “aha” moments that helped put some of the communications I’ve had with my Brazilian, Indian and British colleagues (just to name a few) in context. Check out more details in the Spotlight section below.
As we think about creating content and programing that is helpful to you, we are acutely aware of the fact that while some of us are back in the office, others of us are still working remotely, and may be for some time in the future. The brave new world is here to stay and we’re all finding ways to keep healthy and sane in our new normal. But what hasn’t changed is the need for all of us to stay connected at some level with our in-house peers. Which means we’re doing our best to offer both in-person social events (curling, ping-pong, golf, poker, you name it), as well as virtual substantive programing that’s easy to attend no matter where you are. Did you attend the webinar on “Mock Negotiation of Limitation of Liability clauses in Software and eCommerce agreements” last week? It was so much better than the usual presentation on this topic! You can check out the recording here VIDEO LINK.
We invite you to share your ideas on any content that you would like to see offered – our sponsors are always willing to be creative to serve the needs of our some 800-strong membership base, so please feel free to reach out to myself or any Board member with your feedback. Please also use the Speaker Interest Form if you’d like to volunteer your expertise as a speaker in any particular area – you don’t need to be a seasoned speaker, just someone willing to share your insights with others that are eager to learn.
Wishing you a happy harvest season and hope we get to cross paths virtually or in person at one of the many ACC events between now and the end of the year.
