Overview (Program Summary)
It’s been two years since the murder of George Floyd and worldwide protests to eradicate racism and injustice against Black lives. In this Webcast, hear the extraordinary story of how one law firm responded to by leaning in and embracing a new role as change agent. Learn how Jackson Lewis’ used its racial equity program RACE (Realign Act Change Engage) Talks to build a forum to educate staff about the systemic issues that Black and African American communities face and to have uncomfortable, transparent conversations about these issues and develop specific actions to advance social justice in our society and workplace. Throughout this Webcast, you will learn how the firm expanded the conversation to discuss incidents of hate and violence experienced by the U.S. Asian community. Plus, you’ll see how the program applied homework assignments and group discussions to help participants question assumptions about race, racism, and racial justice. By the end of this Webcast, you will walk away with new perspectives that will help you foster a culture of inclusion and diversity within your organization; work towards eliminating systemic racism and bias within our legal systems; and become a social justice advocate.
