This article delves into why cryptocurrency assets such as Bitcoin may seem more attractive than assets in banks, particularly because the latter are vulnerable to centralized retaliation (due to the great number of international sanctions).

However, as Bitcoin moves closer towards the mainstream and regulators are competing to regulate its space, it is unclear whether or not Bitcoin will remain as decentralized as it was when it was first conceived. In the meantime, its decentralized nature may be a weakness against international sanctions.
